Historic Schoolhouse Inn Policies
Welcome to the Historic Schoolhouse Inn, a family-run, boutique property in Trinidad, California. We are proud to
provide our guests with a relaxing, historic atmosphere with modern amenities. Please carefully review the
following policies, which are in place to ensure safety, comfort, and clarity for all. For assistance at any time, our
management team remains available by phone to ensure your stay is seamless and stress-free. By confirming a
reservation and/or staying at the Inn, you agree to the following terms:
Check-in & Check-out Times
● Check-in time: 4:00 pm
● Check-out time: 10:00 am
After-Hours & Digital Check-In Policy
● Our front desk and registration office close at 6:00 pm and open at 10 am.
● A physical signature is required for your stay. Kindly report to the front office at 10 am to finish registering if
you arrive after business hours.
● Guests arriving after this time will enjoy a contactless check-in experience; this system allows late-arriving
guests to check in quickly, privately, and at their convenience without delay.
● A unique secure access code will be provided prior to arrival for both:
○ The front entrance of the Inn
○ Your reserved room
Late Check-Out Policy
● Courtesy extensions, when available, may be granted until 11:00 am.
● Guests remaining past 11:00 am will be charged a late check-out fee equal to 50% of that day’s best available
rate plus taxes/fees.
Payment, Cancellations & No-Shows
● A valid credit card is required to confirm all reservations.
● All reservations must be paid in full before check-in.

● Cancellation 30+ days before arrival: Full refund minus $50 fee
● Cancellation 15–29 days: 50% refund minus $50 fee
● Cancellation within 14 days: Non-refundable
● Cancellations must be made by phone or email during office hours.
● No-shows will be charged the full amount of the reservation.
● Early departures are non-refundable.
Force Majeure / Acts of Nature
● The Inn is not responsible for interruptions in services caused by events beyond its control, including but not
limited to: earthquakes, wildfires, storms, power outages, or utility failures. We have no control over these
events and have a back up generator onsite.
● Refunds will not be issued for such interruptions.
Guest Conduct & Right to Refuse Service
● Guests are expected to behave respectfully toward staff, other guests, and property.
● The Inn reserves the right to refuse service or remove guests engaging in disruptive, unsafe, or illegal
behavior, without refund.
● Management may issue warnings or notices for disruptive behavior.
● Any of the following may be considered substantial annoyance (subject to removal):
○ Loud arguments or disturbances
○ Racial/ethnic slurs or threats
○ Use of fireworks or weapons
○ Repeated police visits
○ Loud music or traffic to/from Lot
○ Open alcohol abuse or disorderly conduct
Damage Responsibility
● Guests must promptly report any spills, damages, or accidents to management so they can be addressed
immediately.

● Guests are financially responsible for any damages, missing items, or excessive cleaning required beyond
normal use.
● The Inn reserves the right to deduct such costs from the deposit or charge the guest’s credit card on file.
Use of Amenities (Hot Tub, Lawn, Outdoor Areas)
● Use of all facilities is at your own risk.
● No lifeguard on duty. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
● Guests must follow all posted safety signs and staff instructions.
No Pets Policy (Animal-Free Hotel)
● The Historic Schoolhouse Inn is an animal-free boutique hotel. No pets, emotional support animals, or
companion animals are permitted anywhere inside the inn.
● Registered Service Animals (animals trained to perform specific tasks for guests with disabilities) are
welcome in compliance with the ADA and California law. Service animals must remain under their handler’s
control at all times and must not cause disruption or safety concerns.
● Unauthorized animals will result in immediate eviction without refund and a $250 deep cleaning fee.
Children & Supervision
● Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times.
● The Inn is not responsible for injuries, accidents, or damage involving unsupervised minors.
Smoke & Vape Free Policy
● Smoking and vaping are not permitted indoors, on patios, or in any other space on the Inn property except in
the designated smoking area by the woodshed.
● A $250 cleaning fee will be charged for any violations of our smoking policies.
Parking & Vehicle Liability
● Complimentary self-parking is provided in front of the garden and Inn.
● Guests park at their own risk. The Inn assumes no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or their

contents.
Housekeeping & Room Access
● For the safety and upkeep of the property, staff may enter guest rooms for housekeeping, maintenance, or
emergencies even if a “Do Not Disturb” sign is displayed.
● Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.
Event Space Policies
If hosting an event at the Inn, please note:
● All decorations must be approved by Inn staff.
● No tape, nails, or staples on building surfaces. Only wire, floral wire, or non-stick tape are permitted. No tape
of any kind may be used on wood floors.
● Candles ARE NOT permitted at the Inn. Battery-operated tea lights are recommended.
● No rice, confetti, glitter, birdseed, or fireworks (including sparklers) are permitted.
● Additional lighting/equipment must be pre-approved.
● Failure to follow event policies may result in termination of the event without refund.
Photography, Filming & Media
● Commercial photography, filming, or media use of the Inn’s property requires prior written approval.
● Unauthorized use is prohibited and may result in additional fees or legal action.
● By entering and/or staying at Camp Trinidad RV Resort and The Historic Schoolhouse Inn, guests grant
permission to Camp Trinidad RV Resort and its representatives to photograph, film, or otherwise capture
images and audio at any time on the property. These materials may be used for marketing, promotional, or
commercial purposes, including but not limited to social media, website content, and print materials, without
compensation or further notice.
● Management uses audio/video surveillance in common areas.

● Guests acknowledge that the Inn is a historic property and accept the inherent risks of staying on such
premises.
● By staying at the Historic School House Inn, guests agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Inn,
its owners, and employees from any liability, claims, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) for personal
injury, accident, illness, or loss of property.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
By signing below electronically or in person, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to all rules,
policies, and terms. I am responsible for my conduct and my guests’. Failure to comply may result in removal
without refund.
Guests who have not completed an electronic or physical signature prior to arrival agree that by entering the
property, checking in, occupying a Site or Cabin, or remaining onsite, they are accepting and agreeing to all current
Camp Trinidad RV Resort Terms & Conditions.
